In some countries, employment regulations are onerous in termination situations. It may therefore be prudent to set up a Staff Manual to complement your employment agreement. The Staff Manual is not a legal document and so it can be readily modified without the need to obtain employee approval.

The manual should include description of a company’s disciplinary and grievance procedures. Since your employee signs onto these via his/her offer letter, an employment tribunal is likely not to assess whether these are reasonable but only to look at how a company operates them.
